About the Role
Purpose of the Production Support Engineer is to assist in the Design of Jigs, Fixtures and Stillages for Ifor Williams Sites where current Jigs, Fixtures or Stillages require improvement or have become unusable or damaged.
The Production Support Engineer will create or update the 3D Model accordingly and produce drawings that will allow for production either at our Manufacturing Site in Ty’n Llidiart or externally at one of our approved suppliers.
Key Production Support Engineer Responsibilities:
- Contribute to a culture of Continuous Improvement & Safe Working.
- Follow Safe Systems Of Work.
- Undertake improvements to processes, tooling and jigs.
- Maintain records of tooling, jigs and fixtures.
- Working as part of the Engineering Team to deliver solutions in support of production activities.
- Working closely with the Site Operations and Production Teams to help solve problems and create solutions.
- Working closely with the Quality Team to identify the causes of defects and contribute to investigations.
- Ensure that the 3D Models and Drawings are suitable for Manufacture.
- Communicate well with colleagues on alternative shifts and highlight issues to site management team.

- Practical understanding of Fabrication and Welding
- Understanding of “Poke-Yoke” on JIGS and Fixtures
- Experienced in the use of SolidWorks 3D CAD Software and the creation of Engineering Drawings.
- An understanding of how JIGS or Fixtures are designed and used in production.
Qualifications Required:
- Must hold at least 5 GCSE’s (Must contain English, Maths and Science/Physics Grade B and above). Work experience may be substituted in place of formal qualifications.
- Experience using SolidWorks 3D CAD Software.
- Those with suitable “hands-On” experience will also be considered in place of Formal Qualifications.
