For over 25 years Barnwell Trailers have provided a top-class service in the Peterborough area as distributors for Europe’s biggest trailer makers, Ifor Williams Trailers.

Over the years many of the company’s customers have come from Norfolk, and now they can be accommodated much closer to home as Norfolk Trailers have been appointed as distributors based at Hellesdon Business Park.

And at the helm is Mike Berridge who, for 15 years, was involved in Barnwell Trailers, a family business.

"With Barnwell I have been involved in all aspects of the business, starting with sales and servicing and eventually becoming sales manager, so I have a broad experience which I’m sure will stand me in good stead," he said.

Mike, who will run the new operation alongside his wife Claire, who was also involved in the Barnwell business, said he was delighted to be given the opportunity to take charge of Norfolk Trailers.

Mike said his job would be made much easier because his experience had taught him that he could have total confidence in the company’s products, which range from horse-boxes and stock trailers to tipping trailers which can be used for a variety of purposes.

"I know the Ifor Williams Trailers products inside out and I am confident that the product is superior to the competition," he said.

The new base at Hellesdon, which is conveniently located for access to the main Norwich ring-road, will stock about 80 trailers as well as parts, and will offer full servicing facilities.

"We shall try to mirror exactly what we do back home at Barnwell which has been so successful," Mike added.
