7. Would it be acceptable for me to fit a different make of tyre to the one originally fitted?

This will be OK provided that the tyre has the same load / speed index as the original. This is the code marked on the tyre after the size reference:

e.g.: 165R13C 94L

It is essential that the load index - in this case L is the same. The speed index will be acceptable if it is J or higher. (J represents 100km/h).
